Bio-Inspired Institutional Resilience against Transnational Organized Crime

Strengthening People, Partnerships and SDG Impact from Africa to Europe

Friday, 23 October 2026 | 13:00–13:50, Vienna local time
Vienna International Centre, Room M2, Vienna, Austria
Language: English with French translation

International Promoting Human Development (IPHD) is organizing a side event during the thirteenth session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime.

The event will bring together government representatives, civil society leaders and survivor perspectives to explore how stronger institutions, people-centered prevention and international partnerships can help address transnational organized crime while advancing sustainable development.

Why this dialogue matters

Preventing organized crime requires coordinated action across institutions and communities. Education, economic opportunity, human protection, access to justice and accountable governance can strengthen prevention alongside law-enforcement responses.

IPHD’s Bio-Inspired Systems Framework for Integrated Human Development provides a lens for examining these connections. Drawing inspiration from the interdependence of living systems, it encourages institutions to coordinate their functions, learn from experience and respond to emerging challenges.

The dialogue also connects with IPHD’s “Minimum for a Better Life for All” initiative, which promotes the essential knowledge and conditions needed for a dignified, safe and sustainable life.
